Leaders who are self-actualized have definitely done “The Work” on themselves…
Leaders are said to be self-actualized when they have met all their needs, when they don’t have to think about emergencies, when they have realized their full potential and have time to work on themselves.
They then become protective over their personal space.
1. Self-actualized leaders are always improving on who they are
I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then. – Lewis Carroll
2. Self-actualized leaders are dutiful about their purpose
When you find your WHY, you don’t hit snooze no more! You find a way to make it happen! – Eric Thomas
3. Self-actualized leaders believe that their circumstances don’t determine their destination
Sometimes it’s about playing a poor hand well. – Donna Tartt
4. Self-actualized leaders check in often with themselves
When I loved myself enough, I began leaving whatever wasn’t healthy. This meant people, jobs, my own beliefs and habits – anything that kept me small. My judgement called it disloyal. Now I see it as self-loving. – Kim McMillen
5. Self-actualized leaders work hard and play hard
Surround yourself with people who take their work seriously, but not themselves, those who work hard and play hard. – Colin Powell
